The Centre for Healthy Ageing (CHA) is a virtual research centre launched in 2021 that brings together researchers in DNA repair, telomere biology, epigenetics, resilience, immunology and clinical specialities such as cancer, neurobiology and cardiovascular biology to pursue projects in the context of ageing.
Our mission is to promote healthy ageing and to prevent and treat age-related diseases by combining basic and clinical research, so that everyone can have a long and healthy life.
Research at the CHA combines basic research on the mechanisms of ageing with clinical research on healthy ageing and age-related diseases. By combining these two fields, we can make scientific discoveries about ageing that can be translated into more effective preventative strategies and treatments for age-related diseases, helping everyone to reach old age in good health.
CHA researchers are based at our partner institutions in Mainz, Germany.
