Evidence Syntheses (Systematic Reviews & Meta-analyses) in Resilience & Ageing Research

With the exponential growth in the number of scientific publications, it is becoming increasingly difficult not only for scientists, but also for patients and the public, to know which knowledge to rely on. At the same time, there is a high expectation from the public to be informed about the best available knowledge. This is also true for ageing research.

My research group therefore produces systematic reviews and meta-analyses that summarise and evaluate research literature available worldwide. In doing so, we increasingly use automated and machine learning methods. The focus of our work is analysing knowledge of psychological and neurobiological mechanisms of resilience, i.e. the ability to stay healthy despite adverse life events, as well as on interventions to promote resilience, and is currently being expanded to include ageing research. Thus, we will create the conditions to generate the best possible knowledge about ageing processes and their prevention and therapy at the CHA.
