The Gutenberg Health Study
With more than 18,500 participants and more than 11,000 parameters examined per person per time point, the Gutenberg Health Study (GHS) is one of the most comprehensive population health studies and an exceptional resource for translational research on population health. The GHS is unique in its combination of representative sampling (age- and sex-stratified random sampling), comprehensive and serial biobanking and its broad range of medical-technical examinations that are performed independent of disease status. The study thus allows for the monitoring of subclinical disease development, as well as for the analysis of factors related to the maintenance of health and well-being throughout life ("healthy ageing").
