CoAGE Kick-off Meeting

19 - 20 May 2025

The CoAGE Kick-off Meeting marks the official start of the CoAGE graduate programme funded by Rhineland-Palatinate's Ministry of Science and Health. The meeting takes place at IMB and will be opened by Clemens Hoch, Minister for Science and Health (MWG).

CoAGE is a joint programme between seven major longitudinal study cohorts in Germany:

  • The Gutenberg Health Study (Philipp Wild, Mainz)
  • The Hamburg City Health Study (Stefan Blankenberg, Hamburg)
  • The Cooperative Health Research in the Region of Augsburg Study KORA (Barbara Thorand, Munich)
  • The LIFE cohorts (Markus Scholz, Leipzig)
  • The National cohort NAKO (Annette Peters, Munich)
  • The Rheinland Study (Monique Breteler, Bonn)
  • The Study of Health In Pomerania (Henry Völzke, Greifswald)

Research within the consortium focuses on the molecular mechanisms that underlie multimorbidity in the ageing population. This meeting brings together leading scientists from the major German cohorts as well as their CoAGE PhD students.
