Preventive Cardiology

Our main interest is research in preventive cardiology, as well as in our two sub-areas, clinical epidemiology and systems medicine. Preventive cardiology is the medical care of patients in the context of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. We concentrate on patient-oriented, translational cardiovascular research, conducting clinical trials to gain new insights into disease mechanisms in humans. Our goal is to better understand the pathology and mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and to develop new strategies for preventing, diagnosing and treating them.
